Dear Kris & Kathleen,

My name is Caitlin Hacker, and I am the Director of Quilt Exhibits for the International Quilt Festival of Ireland 2012. I am emailing you in regards to our festival's exciting exhibit called "My Quilted Garden."

I am contacting you because after doing some extensive research online for breathtaking and fabulous quilts having to do with gardens and flowers, I came across your quilts that I thought were extremely beautiful. I wanted to know if you would be interested in sending us your garden quilts so that we can display them at our festival this coming June.

You can find all of the information you would want to know about our festival on our website,www.IQFOI.com. You can read all about our "My Quilted Garden" exhibit to get a better feel for what we are going for. We only want to display the best and your quilts do not fall short of that! We would be extremely delighted and honored to have your talent a part of our exhibit.

We make it a priority to take exceptional care of the quilts we receive and will return them shortly after the festival closes in the same condition. And don't forget, first prize for best entry receives $1,000.00! Please let me know if this is something that interests you and I hope to hear back from you soon.

Have a wonderful day happy quilting!

Cheers!

Are there really only two entries for June? I keep checking to see the new blocks, but keep seeing the same two. Is there a problem loading new ones in? Even though I am not doing blocks, I love seeing the different ways other people are making them. It is very inspiring. Thanks for hosting this great BOM!

I did the same thing 5 years ago with our master bath room floor in our new home. My husband and I installed it ourselves. We inserted an area of glass tiles down the middle of the long bath room floor to look like a carpet runner. I chose aqua and clear tiles against a background of speckled tan tiles that simulated beach glass and sand.
Later in the construction process the counter guys came in for their part of the project.
The foreman took one look at the floor and inquired who did the gorgeous floor. I told him we did. He said that he had been a tile layer for years and that there wasn't enough money to pay him to do a job like that. We took that to be a compliment! I told him I used my quilt program to design the layout and that it went without a hitch although laying all those 1" glass tiles down the middle was very time consuming. They each had to be installed individually. He asked about the program again later and I showed him my computer software and designs in my program. He said he would have to get himself some quilting software!

Am very interested in trying the "Interlocking Stars" quilt designed by you and shown on our WI PBS program of Love of Quilting by Fons & Porter. I have located the website for Bear Essentials fabric collections, but am unable to locate the Pen & Ink website for the other quilt fabrics. Can you supply the website or refer me to find the fabrics at any other location.

On another note, how cute is this?
Yesterday, a woman called with a Dear Jane question. She had been wanting to call for days, but kept forgetting. She remembered to do it yesterday, because she lives in Missoula and drove by the traffic signal box!

What a beautiful write up on my Interlocking Stars quilt! Thank you so much for sharing this quilt with everyone! Joanie did write to me and her quilt came out just beautiful! I guess I thought that because there was no Y piecing, or paper piecing that the level was intermediate! LOL! There is no doubt that it takes a while to put together, but hopefully the results are well worth the effort. Thanks again so much for all your kind words!
